Aviation Training Courses

Cargill Aeronautical is a Part 61 flight school. LIke Part 141 flight schools, Cargill Aeronautical uses a standardized curriculum for private pilot, instrument and commercial pillot training.

All Cargill Aeronautical instructors are employed, not contracted. Instructors never compete with each other for aircraft or students. Students are entrolled and aircraft scheduled through a centralized system. Students that graduate from the Youth Professional Pilot Program are given priority when flight instructor positions become available.​

Standard hourly rates, plus applicable sales tax and airport authority fees, apply for instruction and aircraft. Hours to complete each license and rating are contingent upon the student's ability to master the required FAA standards.

Enrollment Requirments

​

  • Be 16 1/2 years of age (Must be 17 to take the FAA Private Pilot Checkride).

  • Read , write and speak English proficiently.

  • Meet with the Program Administrator.

  • Discovery Flight (Recommended).

  • Complete & sign all enrollment documents.

  • Provide proof of citizenship (FAA mandate). If not a US citizen, obtain approval from the Transportaion Security Admistration (TSA) through the Flight Training Security Program. https://www.fts.tsa.dhs.gov/home

  • Obtain the appropriate 1st, 2nd or 3rd class medical certificate.

Private PIlot License (PPL)

 Curriculum Description:

This course teaches the aeronautical knowledge required by Part 141 and Part 61 for Private Pilot Certification (PPL) and meets the prerequisites for taking the FAA Private Pilot Practical Exam (Oral and Flight).

Instrument Ratining (IFR)

Curriculum Description:

 

This course teaches the aeronautical knowledge and skill required by Part 141 and Part 61 for an instrument rating (IFR) and meets the prerequisites for taking the FAA Instrument Practical Exam (Oral and Flight).

Commercial Pilot License (CPL)

The Student will obtain the aeronautical skill and experience required by FAR Part 141 and Part 61 for a Commercial Pilot License (CPL) with an airplane category and single-engine class rating. Through flight test and school records, the student must demonstrate that the necessary aeronautical skill and experience required by FAR Part 61 for a Commercial Pilot Certificate have been met. The Student must be able to apply single pilot resource management (SRM) skills, including aeronautical decision-making (ADM), and risk management. In addition, the student must be able to counteract hazardous attitudes, apply the ADM process to make effective decisions, identify hazards and mitigate risks. The Student must also be able to demonstrate the ability to manage tasks and automation, maintain situational awareness, and take actions to prevent controlled flight into terrain (CFIT).

Certified Flight Instructor (CFI & CFI-I)

Cargill Aeronautical offers training for commercial pilots interested in becoming a Certified Flight Instructor or Certified Flight Instructor-Instrument. Students must have lesson plans for each FAA standard.

Biennial Flight Review (BFR)

Pilots requiring a flight review are required to demonstrate the approriate level of knowledge and flying skills for the license/ratings held to ensure pilots maintain the highest standards of safety and proficiency.

Instrument Proficiency Check (IPC)

 Curriculum Description:

​

To ensure that instrument rated pilots who do not met the currently rules  to operate safely under instrument flight rules, Cargill Aeronautical offers instrucment proficiency checks.
